We are currently recruiting for an

enthusiastic and capable person

to join our

friendly delivery service team

. Your standard working week will be 44hrs (excluding breaks), however you'll be paid in accordance with the total hours worked to allow for variations in the day.

and be part of our Simply Beds team. Delivering our products to our customers is without doubt a crucial part of our business, and the person we are looking for must have the skills needed to

install beds and bedroom furniture items in our customers homes.

You'll be

part of a team of two

and will be required

to deliver, assemble and recycle products

into the homes of our customers across North Yorkshire and surrounding areas.

Once you've loaded your 3.5-tonne van, you'll be out on the road and will have a

hands-on day in this physical role

- you might be lifting anything from a mattress to a sofa bed, alongside your team.

Catterick, Northallerton

, start and finish locations will vary each day between the three stores. Living locally to Ripon is preferable as the start and finish location for this job role will be

A

full UK/EU/EEA driving license

with no more than 6 points and at least 2 years driving experience is required. CBR checks will be carried out.

About the job

Safe loading and unloading of furniture into customer properties and warehouses. Transferring goods between our warehouses. Adhering to daily route planning and handling of delivery documentation. Communication with customers, stores and warehouses. Some furniture assembly (eg. bedframes, divan beds, ottomans, wardrobes and chest of drawers) in customer properties. Collection of returns and customer disposals. Warehouse duties and general maintenance of the stores. Plan and drive to predetermined appointments with due care and attention. Liaise with customers to confirm delivery times. Where appropriate ensure furniture is unwrapped and checked for any damage prior to leaving the customer's property. Vehicle safety, maintenance and cleanliness procedures. Other reasonable duties within the job holder's capabilities. The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Experience - Having experience of multi-drop deliveries within the furniture industry would be advantageous. Flexible - A flexible approach to working hours including being able to work overtime if necessary. Strength & Endurance - Comfortable with a physically demanding job that requires you to load and unload your vehicle and install beds and bedroom furniture where necessary leaving our customers feeling happy and satisfied with their delivery experience.
