The Operations Manager works closely with the Technical Coordinator to lead the company's operational delivery "with an iron fist," ensuring all projects are executed safely, profitably, and efficiently. This role is central to maintaining operational excellence across safety, cash flow, compliance, and customer satisfaction, setting the standard for others to follow.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
Ensure all jobs are booked with full logistical consideration, aligning materials, equipment, subcontractors, and technician skillsets.
Complete a target of
7 projects per week
, prioritising high-value projects.
Conduct
pre-start briefings
for every job, providing technicians with complete, accurate job briefs (scope, customer requirements, H&S, materials, logistics).
Maintain
zero tolerance for unsafe practices
.
Scheduling & Efficiency
Actively manage the diary for maximum efficiency, minimising downtime and identifying conflicts, risks, or capacity gaps before job start.
Adjust project schedules proactively in response to cash flow fluctuations or operational demands.
Customer Management
Keep customers fully informed from booking through completion, ensuring expectations are clear and satisfaction is verified post-job.
Handle disputes calmly, professionally, and promptly.
Achieve
positive customer feedback

Financial Management
Monitor weekly cash collection targets and adjust project sequencing as needed to support cash flow.
Ensure 100% of Tier 1 jobs are
signed and invoiced within 24 hours
of client approval.
Confirm that
all supplier quotes
are documented and uploaded for cross-referencing by Accounts.
Oversee
job sign-off sheets
for technicians/subcontractors to eliminate delays and disputes in payments.
Performance & Growth
Identify and pursue
cross-sell and up-sell opportunities
during Tier 1 jobs (e.g., extended guarantees, roofing work).
Conduct
lessons-learned reviews
post-job and implement continuous improvements in supply chain, subcontractor performance, and internal processes.
Monitor and support the
