Summary



We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our dedicated team at Browns Books. You must have a fantastic work ethic, be able to self-manage and problem solve whilst delivering exceptional customer care skills in the process to our Educational & Academic Customers in the UK and Worldwide.

The right candidate will demonstrate a high level of consistency and attention to detail as well as being able to deliver exceptional customer care skills with regards to enquiries. The candidate must be a quick learner on our Platforms, processes, and products while enjoying problem solving and offering customers the best and timeliest results in answer to their library/classroom queries. The candidate must be able to complete administration accurately, enjoy account management/upselling and deliver company communications via telephone and e-mail to the highest standards.

Duties include



Customer Service Calls, Incoming & Outgoing Order placement, & Account Administration Sales Team Appointment Management Sales Calls & Teams support demonstrations. Creating Bespoke Book Selections for Customers. eBook Platform support. Answering customer queries by both phone and email Make outgoing calls and emails to customers.

Mandatory Skills



Confident and professional telephone manner. Good understanding of Microsoft Excel & strong general IT skills GCSE grade C & above in Maths and English, Highly Organised Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written . Eagerness, willingness, and determination to learn.

Desired Skills



Full UK Driving Licence Library/Book/Education Knowledge A current interest in books, literacy or the publishing world Technical Skills - Integration and software experience CRM experience, (Deskpro/Goldmine would be of benefit) Technical Support for eBooks/Online Platforms Knowledge of School Integration platforms Strong Excel Skills (Can use at speed, more complex formulas)

Candidates who meet our initial screen will be invited to a formal face to face interview at our New Offices in Melton.

Contract Information



Permanent, with probationary period of 8 months

2025 Salary 26,665.60 - Mon-Fri. 0800-1700 No Shifts or Weekends. (40hrs).

(Contracts available for 35 & 37.5hours)

Holidays - 4 Weeks per annum along with agreed Bank Holidays. (There is a requirement for 80% of Holidays to be taken in the school holiday periods)

Casual Dress on Fridays, Employee Discount, Free Parking, Self Service Canteen & Welfare Space. Bus Stop outside reception.
