NAAFI are seeking individuals who are passionate about customer service to come and work with us in the NAAFI Royal Navy. This is a great opportunity to experience this unique Naval environment and to see the world whilst at work.
You will be passionate about customer service, by excelling at communicating and serving or customers and continuously delivering and maintaining excellent standards throughout all aspects of our business.
The successful applicant must have the ability to work under their own initiative, to live in close quarters on-board ship and represent NAAFI appropriately when socialising with the ship's crew on deployments for up to 10 months at a time. When not at sea you will either work on a ship shoreside or along-side the British Military as Customer Service Assistant in one of our other locations worldwide (accommodation provided).
As the job is spending a lot of time away from home (up to 10 months per year), applicants must consider if this fits in with their personal circumstances prior to applying.

Responsibilities of the role of Naval Ships Customer Service Assistant with NAAFI:
Serving and dealing with customers in a courteous, friendly, and helpful manner
Actively promoting NAAFI products by offering advice to customers and acting on their comments and suggestions to increase sales and our brand image
Take payment for goods and food using a variety of methods
The preparation and serving of food and drinks in line with HACCP
Replenishment and checking of stock to meet legal standards
Maintain the cleanliness, hygiene, and safety of our premises
Assist your colleagues in completing your establishments daily, weekly, and monthly tasks as directed by your supervisor / manager
To maintain the highest levels of personal hygiene, appearance, and conduct
Responsible for ensuring H&S standards are met, including, but not limited to manual handling (particularly when storing ship)
To undertake any reasonable request within the scope and grade of the role
Requirements for the role of Naval Ships Customer Service Assistant with NAAFI:
Demonstratable retail or customer service experience and the ability to communicate effectively with people
Ability to work on under your own initiative and as part of a team
Must pass an ENG 1 Medical, a Sea Survival course and the relevant security clearance
In addition, you will be required to sign up to the Naval Reserves and opt out of the working time directive as part of the contract
