You will act as a key contact for all of our patients, Consultant users and colleagues, relating to inpatient and surgical admission, ensuring an excellent level of customer service at all times.

We have a full time vacancy, but are open to considering part-time/ job share opportunities

1. Create inpatient and surgical bookings on our patient administration system.

2. Provide high quality, accurate, communication with patients at all times.

3. Liaise with patients to answer queries in a courteous, professional and efficient manner.

4. Act as a liaison to Consultant users and secretaries to ensure that they are fully appraised of their diary commitments.

5. Act as a liaison for clinical and non-clinical teams to provide accurate, contemporaneous updates of the theatre diary via the scheduler system.

6. To be responsible for ensuring patients are reviewed, by all departments, in a timely manner in line with the booking process procedure, prompting teams as required.

7. Where required, ensure patient payments are processed in a timely manner.

8. Where applicable, update RTT clocks as and when required and to have a good understanding of RTT.

9. Where applicable, liaise with Insurance companies regarding authorisations.

10. Create inpatient and surgical bookings on our patient administration system.

Person Specification



Essential Criteria



Experience working in a customer services and administrative role

Excellent interpersonal skills

Willing to undertake self-development activities to improve performance and effectiveness

Has up-to-date knowledge or demonstrable computer literacy in order to use the following systems:

1. Electronic Patient Records

2. Management of Medical records

Minimum of GCSE English and Mathematics

Able to prioritize workload

Effective time management skills

Ability to use initiative and make decisions under guidance from line manager

Effective interpersonal skills

Excellent communication skills, written and oral

Able to motivate and support others

Encourage effective team working

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Understands the importance of confidentiality and dealing with sensitive information

Desirable



Already obtained or working toward BTEC/NVQ level in Administration

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.25 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
