Job Summary

The Food Preparation Worker plays a vital role in ensuring that all food items are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. This position involves working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, assisting with the preparation of ingredients, and maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen. Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and portion sizes. Assist in the preparation of ingredients, including washing, chopping, and measuring. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Collaborate with our kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours. Support serving staff by preparing sandwiches & salads for service and assisting with upselling menu items. Monitor food quality and freshness, discarding any expired or spoiled items.

Skills

Proficient in food preparation techniques with an understanding of culinary practices. Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, particularly in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices to ensure hygiene standards are met. Basic math skills for measuring ingredients accurately. Experience in a kitchen setting is advantageous, including familiarity with various cooking methods. Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods. Ability to upsell menu items through effective communication with serving staff and customers. This role is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills while contributing to a dynamic team environment in the food industry.
