Somerset Cancer Register (SCR) is a web application developed by the NHS for recording electronic cancer patient records. We have a range of additional products including interfaces and the Remote Monitoring System (RMS) which is used to assist with the scheduling and review of patients outside of a standard RTT pathway.

The Role is to work as part of the Customer Support and Testing Team to provide high quality support to customers and to perform functional testing in relation to Somerset Cancer Register (SCR) products and services.

Job description

Under the supervision of the Senior Test Analyst, the Customer Support Assistant role involves:

Functional Testing of web applications and interfaces. Raising issues found, proposing resolutions and dissing them within a multi-team group Identify risks and issues on assigned releases, upgrades or changes Report on status of testing and associated issues as required Provision of general application support for SCR, dealing with system enquiries/problems/requests in accordance with customer service level agreement Triaging, prioritising, assigning calls, and liaising with customers. Liaising with customers / developers and scheduling SCR / RMS version upgrades Continuous knowledge development regarding Cancer targets and datasets and changes to the web application.

Educated to Foundation degree level or equivalent experience gained through relevant work history (2 years in a similar or related roles) GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths (Higher than C or Grade 4) Evidence of own continuing professional development

Working in a customer service environment Using Teams or similar for meetings / collaboration

Working in a customer facing IT support role Experience in testing software Working in the NHS

Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems and software applications including MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint Evidence of a good standard of Literacy / English language skills Able to work in a team with good interpersonal skills including tact and discretion Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, senior managers and customers Accurately follow documented procedures Good listening skills Ability to build and maintain good working relationships Good keyboard skills Ability to travel to other working locations Work to deadlines, often within tight and changing schedules Prioritise, plan and organise own workload effectively Ability to work on own initiative and without constant supervision
