The Plastic Printing Co Ltd (PPC Labels) is a specialist horticultural Print & Packaging company providing tailor made labelling, packaging and point of sale solutions to growers and retailers. Due to continued expansion we require a Cut & Crease Machine Operator/Factory All-Rounder.

The position we are offering has a great deal of responsibility.

We are looking for a reliable cut & Crease operator experienced on Iberica or Bobst or Sanwa die cutting machine, able to work on own initiative in a small but busy factory.

The successful candidate will be required to perform a full range of print finishing tasks, along with undertaking general factory/warehouse duties in a very busy environment. You will be required to organise and manage your own workload, prioritising and managing production throughflow to meet time critical and tight deadlines whilst also being accurate and precise.

The key day to day tasks include:

Running Iberica diecutting machines and Heidelberg cylinder

Operating guillotine and various other print finishing machines

Finishing handwork tasks including: breaking out, banding and packing

Packaging items to the highest quality and standard - following lists, ensuring accuracy

Creating professional, clear and concise labelling

General warehouse duties - packing pallets, dispatching orders, stock management, cleaning and maintenance

Maintain a clean and tidy work area and a high level of Health and safety

Key attributes include:

Diecutting machine Operation

Hand Finishing

Paper handling

Packaging

Good Manual dexterity

Product label production

Computer Skills beneficial particularly Excel & Word

Working to a good pace and within the estimated/expected timescales

Loading / unloading vehicles

Experience:

At least 2 years experience in a production environment

Experience of Diecutting machine operation or assistance

Punctual, hard working with good team ethic

Ability to manage and organise own work and quality control as well as managing agency staff

Will be required to work beyond normal office hours including regular weekends when customer deadlines need to be met

Have a can do attitude and able to stay calm with pressure

Able to work to tight and critical deadlines, whilst being precise, accurate and consistant

Willingness to learn and gain new skills

Fork lift driving (License advantageous but training will be given)

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity in an expanding company. We are offering a competitive salary 24,500-29,500 depending on experience, with the opportunity for future progression in the company.

Based at our factory in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire this position is full time and permanent.
