35,000 - 40,000 per annum (depending on experience)

The Role



We're looking for a

Cutting & Machining Technician

-- a technically skilled, design-minded maker who thrives in digital production and precision fabrication.

You'll operate CNC routing, milling, and laser-cutting equipment, transforming client designs and CAD files into precision-cut components ready for assembly.

This isn't just about running machines -- it's about problem-solving through technology, understanding design intent, and delivering an exceptional experience for our clients and maker community.

Key Responsibilities



Operate and maintain CNC routers, milling machines, and laser cutters for wood, metal, and composite materials. Translate design drawings into accurate CAM toolpaths (Fusion 360, RhinoCAM, SolidWorks, VCarve, etc.). Prepare drawings, setups, and tooling for efficient, high-quality production. Review client designs and advise on materials, tolerances, and fabrication methods. Collaborate with project managers to plan timelines and production schedules. Act as the point of contact for BLOQS Create's cutting & machining service. Contribute to process improvement, training, and innovation within the digital fabrication team.

What We're Looking For



Proven experience operating CNC machinery (wood, metal, or multi-material). Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as Fusion 360, RhinoCAM, or VCarve. Strong understanding of materials, tolerances, and design for manufacture. Attention to detail, pride in craft, and a drive to produce exceptional work. Collaborative, calm under pressure, and proactive problem-solver. A positive contributor to team culture and process development.

Desirable:



Experience with laser cutting, 3D printing, or 5-axis machining. Background in product design, fabrication, or creative industries. Interest in sustainable, digital-first manufacturing.

Salary & Benefits



35,000 - 40,000 per annum

, depending on experience and capability

Full-time, 40 hours per week

(Mon-Fri, 8 am - 5 pm)
