We're looking for an exceptional Cyber Risk Manager Lead to help us make a difference to our planet.


As our Cyber Risk Manager Lead, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home. This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.

Your world of expertise




As Cyber Risk Manager Lead, you will play a central role in delivering and embedding cyber risk management capabilities across the Met Office. Working across all domains of the Governance Risk & Compliance Team, including Policies and Standards and Governance, Risk & Controls. You will play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of frameworks that enable the organisation to identify, assess, and manage cyber risks effectively.

Your key duties

:

Support our governance, risk and controls capabilities to include frameworks and assessments. Support the development, review, release and assurance of cyber security policies and standards. Support the design of and implement assurance frameworks that clarify first and second line responsibilities. Engage with internal and external stakeholders, translating technical concepts into business-relevant language. Task manage and mentor associate level cyber risk analysts.

As our Cyber Risk Manager Lead, your total reward package will be up to 66,268 annually, which includes:

43,081 base pay An outstanding Civil Service pension, with an average employer contribution of 28.97% Recruitment Retention Allowance (RRA) you will be paid 6,000 per annum as a market supplement to reflect the demand for your skills. Whilst in post, you will be paid this market driven allowance from April 2024 until March 2026 in your monthly pay Annual Leave starting at 27.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 32.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years and option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year of annual leave

Essential Criteria, skills and experience:



Proven experience in cyber risk management, including risk assessment, control evaluation, and mitigation planning. Excellent Communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive continuous improvement. Understanding of cyber security policies, standards and regulatory frameworks. Demonstrated ability to lead assurance activities and communicate findings to diverse audiences.
