About the Role
We now have an opportunity for a Cyber Security Engineer to implement and maintain systems and procedures to protect Diamond's assets from security threats.
Accountabilities
Operate and configure infrastructure or tools to appropriately manage security risks.
Work with helpdesk and user groups to manage services including software patching and access management.
Monitor IT, network, security information and event management (SIEM) systems for anomalies, and investigate incidents when they occur.
Contribute to incident response and disaster recovery plans, participate in periodic tests to ensure effectiveness.
Respond to vulnerabilities disclosed by threat intelligence sources including the National Cyber Security Centre, Jisc and vendors.
Support IT helpdesk and be the focal point in responding to security-related tickets from staff and users.
Collaborate with relevant working groups to develop mitigation plans for identified security risks.
About You
You will have recent significant experience working in a professional computing or technical operations role with a focus on security. You will also have the following:
Good expertise with technical security issues and processes, including anti-virus, endpoint detection and response, intrusion prevention, server hardening
Hands-on experience as an administrator with Microsoft Defender and its associated products (Entra, Azure, Active Directory)
Knowledge of Linux-based security tools including SELinux, iptables, Fail2ban, AppArmor
Experience with cyber security incident response and forensics needed following a breach
Experience with software patching tools and vulnerability remediation
Proactive approach, team player, good interpersonal communicator at all levels
