WHAT TO EXPECT

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and enthusiastic engineer to join our Powertrain Software & Cyber Security team.

Cyber Security is a fast paced and dynamic area of the automotive industry. You will be a critical part of the team, directly supporting the development of our Autonomous, Connected, Electric and Shared future to ensure we are robust to emerging security threats, as well as supporting upcoming legislation and standards such as UNECE.R155 and ISO21434.

The team manages the delivery of JLR\'s powertrain software, both internally developed and source via Tier 1\'s. As part of the team\'s responsibility, compliance with JLR\'s Cyber Security requirements must be ensured. The Powertrain team works closely with JLR\'s Product Engineering central Cyber Security team.

Jaguar Land Rover is looking for experienced Cyber Security Engineers who will be responsible for working with JLR\'s Powertrain product teams and suppliers to perform a Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) and develop the overall Cyber Security Assurance case, for JLR vehicles, features and ECUs.

Key Accountabilities and responsibilities

  • Authoring Cyber Security assurance case documentation to support the development of JLR products, features and ECUs, in conjunction with the relevant product owners and teams
  • Perform Threat Analysis and Risk Assessments (TARAs), and attack tree analysis
  • Identification, review and specification of security controls needed to protect JLR and customers
  • Support the creation of an overall vehicle security case
  • Ensure teams and suppliers are correctly following Cyber Security processes, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards such as UNECE.R155 or ISO21434
  • Collaborate with cyber security and / or product delivery teams to deliver JLR\'s overall objectives in an agile way
  • Engage with cyber security experts across the business to improve the overall cyber security posture of the company and drive towards the overall cyber security strategy
WHAT YOU\'LL NEED

The ideal candidate will have a customer first mindset, an open communicator with the ability to convey and deliver complex operational ideas in a highly demanding environment. You will be able to challenge existing thinking in a positive way whilst building credibility and trust through experience and personal style.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Practical experience performing TARA and security case development
  • Detailed understanding of the application of UNECE.R155 and ISO21434
  • A demonstrable knowledge of high integrity systems, and secure software and / or hardware design principles, in an embedded environment.
  • An academic qualification in cyber security or equivalent experience
  • The ability to engineer in a way that is demonstrably compliant with standards and technical specifications
  • Excellent collaborative skills
  • An enthusiastic can do attitude
