We're currently looking for a skilled and experienced
Cycle Maintenance Workshop Manager
to take charge of our workshop operations and ensure every bike leaves our store in top condition. The role is full time and may include some weekend working (on a rota basis).
The successful candidate will be involved with Project PAU Cycling Academy as principal mechanic supporting our youth cycle team in preparation for races in the UK and Europe - you might even get to meet Team PAU's ambassador, former Olympian, Sir Bradley Wiggins. As part of our dedicated team, you'll also be involved in supporting social community events, contributing to planning activities and you're welcome to participate too.
Responsibilities
Oversee the daily running of the workshop, prioritise and delegate tasks and keep the workshop, tools and equipment in good order and well organised
Manage and mentor a small team of mechanics (including an apprentice)
Implement organisational processes to streamline workflow and improve productivity.
Maintain inventory control and ensure that all tools and equipment are well-maintained.
Carry out high-quality servicing, repairs, and diagnostics on a wide range of high end bikes
Maintain accurate service records and manage workshop inventory
Deliver outstanding customer service and technical advice, proactively managing customer bookings to ensure timely completion of servicing and repairs
Ensure all work is completed to Cytech standards and in line with health & safety procedures
Monitor performance metrics to identify areas for improvement within the workshop.
Requirements
Cytech Level 2 (minimum)
- Level 3 preferred
Proven experience as a cycle mechanic (ideally in supervisory role)
Strong mechanical knowledge across a range of bike types, including e-bikes and high-end models
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Passion for cycling and delivering top-tier service
Good time management abilities to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Basic sales skills to assist with customer interactions when necessary.
