Job Description
We are currently seeking a qualified and fluent Czech/Slovak Interpreter to join our network of professional linguists across the UK. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality interpretation services between Czech/Slovak and English speakers, ensuring accurate, impartial, and culturally sensitive communication across a range of public and private sector settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide
f
ace-to-face, telephone, or video remote interpreting (VRI) between Czech/Slovak and English speakers in: Medical appointments (NHS settings) Legal settings (courts, solicitors, police interviews) Government and local authority services Education and social care meetings Asylum and immigration cases (Home Office, tribunals) Accurately interpret spoken information without additions, omissions, or distortion. Maintain strict confidentiality, impartiality, and professional conduct at all times. Ensure cultural context and tone are preserved during interpretation. Prepare for assignments by reviewing terminology or documentation provided. Maintain accurate and timely records of assignments, where required.Requirements:
Fluency in Czech and/or Slovak, and proficient in English. Must hold a recognised interpreting qualification, such as: DPSI (Diploma in Public Service Interpreting). Community Interpreting Level 3 or above.
Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Pay: 15.00-20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 2 per week
Work Location: On the road
