We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dance and Gymnastics Coach to inspire and instruct students of various ages in dance, gymnastics, and related physical activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in curriculum development, teaching and also have a strong background working with children and adults. This role offers an engaging environment where creativity, education, and physical development come together to foster growth and confidence in students/members. The coach will be responsible for designing lesson plans, managing classes, and creating a positive learning atmosphere that encourages skill development and enjoyment.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement engaging dance and gymnastics curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels.
Teach classes in ballet, gymnastics, tap, and general dance, ensuring proper technique and safety.
Plan lessons that incorporate elements of childhood development, early childhood education, and special education as needed.
Use photography or video recording to create promotional materials.
Organise performances or showcases to highlight student achievements and boost confidence.
Collaborate with parents or guardians regarding student progress and developmental milestones.
Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols during all activities.
The coach will be responsible for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff are expected to understand and comply with safeguarding policies and procedures and to act in the best interests of children at all times.
Appointment to this role is subject to satisfactory safeguarding checks, which may include an enhanced DBS check, references, and verification of the right to work.
Skills
Strong background in dance styles such as ballet, tap or general dancing techniques.
Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and behavior management desirable.
Proven ability to work effectively with children, including toddlers and members with special needs.
Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices.
Experience working with students of various ages, including adult education settings if applicable.
Ability to incorporate photography for promotional purposes is desirable. This role is ideal for energetic educators who are passionate about fostering growth through dance and gymnastics while creating a fun, safe space for all students to thrive.
