Position Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, confident and reliable Dance Coach to deliver high-quality sessions at our VIBA Christmas HAF (Holiday Activities & Food) Camp at St Matthew's Community Centre in Hartlepool from 20th-23rd December, 11am-3pm. You will be leading fun, energetic and engaging dance sessions for children aged 5-11 and will be supported on site by assistant coaches to ensure safe and effective delivery. The ideal candidate will inspire children, create a positive atmosphere and confidently lead group dance activities while maintaining a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment.

Pay rate is 80 per day.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-energy, engaging dance sessions for children aged 5-11
Plan creative routines, movement games and confidence-building activities
Work alongside assistant coaches to manage groups safely and effectively
Create a safe, inclusive and enjoyable environment for all participants
Supervise children throughout sessions, including breaks and mealtimes
Encourage teamwork, participation and positive behaviour
Adapt sessions for different ages, abilities and confidence levels
Ensure safe use of space and equipment at all times
Maintain professional conduct and strong communication with parents and colleagues
Follow safeguarding, health & safety and HAF programme procedures

Requirements

Experience working with children or young people
Confidence leading dance or movement-based activities
Passionate about youth development and physical activity
Strong communication and leadership skills
Reliable, proactive and energetic approach to delivery
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)

Desirable

Dance coaching qualification or performance background
First Aid certification
Experience in HAF programmes, holiday camps or school settings
Ability to engage and lead larger groups confidently

Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 1 week

Pay: 20.00 per hour
