You will work within the studio team, however will be expected to work alone on tasks. You will be given your own permanent classes to work with and the opportunity to help these classes progress, prepare for exam sessions, work towards performances and more. Once your classes are secured you will be placed on a regular schedule within the studio, for between 5 and 35 hours a week.
We are expanding into community classes and national qualifications. As your classes improve and get bigger, we will add more classes to the timetable and you will have the opportunity to take on more hours. Working with the school principal you will learn how a studio works and depending on how you want your career to progress, she will teach you how to run the a dance studio. As your input to the studio grows and your classes get bigger, there is a bonus system and salary scale in place to reward this.
Preferably with qualifications in teaching, affiliated to a recognised association or with a BA in dance or relevant subject, you will be given the chance to further your learning and qualifications as part of the team. As we require our teachers to hit the ground running, teaching experience would be beneficial. We are also looking for teachers who are not considering accepting performing contracts within the next 12 months as this can be very unsettling to the pupils.
