1. The role is to support the Data Governance Lead in improving the Data Governance Framework across the Bank. 2. This includes working with Business Units to identify, define and report on the bank wide Critical Data Elements 3. This person is responsible for helping drive data quality improvements across the Bank by working with Data Stewards & SMEs. 4. Identify, evaluate and implement solutions and tools to support data validation and cleansing. 5. Have input to and support on the Single Customer View Project using Informatica to drive uniformity across the Bank. 6. Identify areas to increase efficiency and automation of processes 7. Cross team support for data analyst activities are expected using technical and insight skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Write and execute database queries to provide data profiling results on current Data Quality (DQ) maturity status. 2. Develop a detailed working knowledge of critical data elements, sources, metrics and calculations used across the business. 3. Interpret requests, design DQ Rules, build and deploy appropriate data quality reporting 4. Manipulate, consolidate and reconcile large data sets, using formulas and calculations as necessary to deliver analysis and apply appropriate controls for Data Governance. 5. Deliver Data Quality Reporting and Metrics. 6. Manage own time and provide guidance on expected time frames to data governance customers data stewards and other team members. 7. Present information and analysis through appropriate reporting tools. 8. Coordinate regular tasks with other team members ensuring shared delivery meets the team goals. 9. Collaborate and work directly with Data Governance representatives across the Business. 10. Represent the Data team at the Data Governance forum.
Qualifications/Certification: • Good level of education, must include English and Maths Experience (type & level): • Experience of working in an analyst role within a Finance or Operational environment. • Strong organising and planning skills along with working in a methodical and structured way as part of a team. • The ability to work to tight deadlines and schedules, achievement orientated, tenacious and thorough. • Ideally prior experience working in financial services or in a numerical field. • Knowledge of data lineage, modelling, data cleansing, and data enrichment techniques • Self-Starter • An understanding of Data Governance Practice Experience of Change Control or Agile working methodologies will be advantageous but not essential Technical/Specialist Knowledge & Skills: • Numerate with experience of data analytics & reporting • Ability to carry out data quality control, validation and linkage • An understanding of Data Privacy issues • Excellent numerical and analytical skills • Strong data handling and problem solving skills • Proficient with MS Office applications, including word and PowerPoint • In depth expertise of SQL Tools and MS Excel • Experience Informatica products (particularly C360 & IDQ) or similar = Data Quality products • Excellent communication skills, including an ability to discuss complex ideas with non-technical colleagues in a meaningful way • Good verbal and written communication skills • Excellent planning and organisational skills Interpersonal: • Reliable, adaptable & flexible • Accuracy & attention to detail • “Can do” attitude. • Willingness and desire to learn fast and acquire new skills • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines • Good understanding of internal client concept • Establishes effective working relationships at all levels • Ability to work as part of a team
