Overall Purpose of the role
You will support the data analysis function across our investment programmes through the provision of information and data and the maintenance records of management databases.
Main day to day responsibilities
You will deliver practical support to the Data Analysis function, providing information and data to meet internal and external requests. You will produce regular core management data as well as historic data to support our strategy development. You will also provide support for our dialogue with government on funding to the arts and cultural sectors and operational reporting.
You will assist the Senior Analyst, Data Analysis (projects) to run data collection exercises and analyse the data received.
You will also assist the Senior Analyst, Data Analysis (projects) in the distribution, validation and analysis of our National Portfolio Organisation annual survey.
You will provide practical support in the preparation of Arts Council responses to simple requests for information under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and Data Protection Act.
You will also work on ad hoc projects across the wider Insights function.

What do I need to bring to the role?
Essential (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours)
To succeed in the role you will have experience of producing data reports and management information within a financial or grant making organisation. Knowledge of grants management and award systems is desirable.
You will have experience of financial reporting, performance measurement and financial analysis.
You will have good analytical skills and the ability to synthesise large quantities of information and data and communicate them in a clear and confident manner. You will be a creative thinker with the ability to act creatively. Championing and promoting new ideas is important.
You will also have an excellent working knowledge of using analysis tools including Excel, SQL and PowerBI.
You will be highly organised with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and exercise effective judgement when organising, planning and managing complex tasks. You will also have the ability to initiate work and perform according to self-imposed timetables.
You will have first-rate interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills - both speaking and in writing - and the ability to communicate in a confident and engaging manner with people from different backgrounds. You will also have the ability to illicit information from others within a required timeframe.
You will have a good understanding of our current diversity agenda and its relationship to the work of the role.
