About the job:
Based at our distribution centre in South Elmsall, West Yorkshire, this is a superb opportunity to join our dynamic Logistics Data Analytics team as a Data Analyst. This team is responsible for delivering analytical support to key stakeholders across the logistics operation & various other areas of the business for a variety of purposes including:

  • Developing a suite of Live reporting to enhance output and reduce failures
  • Working with new tools to take reporting and analytics to the next level
  • Providing detailed analytical support on the feasibility of project appraisals
  • Developing and maintaining dashboards, reports, and visualisations that provide stakeholders with clear and concise insights derived from a large array of data sources
  • Providing data and analytical support for the pre and post implementation of our 3rd Party (Total Platform) Warehoused Clients
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define key business questions and objectives
  • Designing and executing data analyses to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities for improving service levels and output
  • Be the bridge between what the business needs and how it gets delivered through reporting.
Primary responsibilities:
  • Analyse & report on daily and weekly performances and volumes
  • Understand the drivers behind unexpected volume variances, and how this impacts the service we offer
  • Provide support during peak business periods to understand the impact on warehouse throughput and capacity
  • Report on daily and weekly performance KPIs to assist and support the warehouse and logistics operations in managing performance
  • Playing a part in ensuring that the right stock is delivered to our customers on time and identifying points of improvement
  • Support the operation and senior management with ad-hoc requests to support business growth
About You:
  • Proficiency in SQL/Python for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Strong data visualisation skills using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Some experience of ML/AI would be preferable but not essential
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in analytics
  • Ability to communicate often complex data and insights to individuals and groups of people, honing in on key findings and clearly and succinctly answer the "so what?" question
  • Interested in how business works and desire to improve our performance
  • Ability to deliver under pressure
  • Attention to detail without losing bigger picture
