Supervision (Banking, Trust, Corporate Services and Investment) Department




The Bermuda Monetary Authority (Authority or BMA) is seeking a skilled and experienced Data Analyst to join our Supervision (Banking, Trust, Corporate Services and Investment) Department. Reporting to the Principal, the Data Analyst will be responsible for playing a critical part in achieving Departmental objectives by processing and analysing large volumes of data from multiple sources, while ensuring compliance with the Authority's data governance policies.

This is a key role for the Authority and the postholder will be responsible for but not limited to:



Designing and developing end-to-end Business Intelligence (BI) data models and solutions using Power BI, with a focus on enabling Self-service BI Implementing security measures for data access and auditing to align with the Authority's data governance framework Automating and streamlining risk-based supervision processes using Power Apps Developing visual reports, dashboards, Key Performance Indicators (KPI) scorecards and other data visualisations using Power BI Translating business requirements into technical specifications and overseeing the entire data analytics lifecycle, including data collection, ingestion, transformation, storage and analytics Ensuring timely delivery of work in an agile environment, utilising proof-of-concept tools as necessary Communicating progress and results clearly and succinctly to Senior Management and stakeholders Contributing to the design and delivery of training sessions for departmental staff Performing other related tasks and special projects as assigned by management

This position requires a proven technical and business background. Therefore, the postholder must have:



A bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related business analytics field from a recognised institution or equivalent analytics focused professional designation (e.g., CPA or CFA) A minimum of five (5) years of experience, with at least three (3) years in data analytics and business intelligence development, including expertise in database and data warehouse management Knowledge of agile development methodologies and the full data lifecycle Strong problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the confidence to present to Senior Management and stakeholders, especially related to progress and outcomes Experience with multiple projects using end-to-end business intelligence solutions, including data transformation, advanced data modelling, and custom visualisations on BI platforms is highly beneficial Proficiency in self-service BI tools and best practices to empower users to generate their own reports Experience in DAX coding, SQL, Python, or R for data analytics and manipulation is highly desirable Familiarity with the Basel Regulatory Framework and regulatory reporting is an asset Knowledge of Excel and VBA for data analytics is an asset Understanding of machine learning concepts in data analytics would be beneficial
