Working within Data and Analytics at Loans by MAL you will play a significant role in collating, preparing and analysing data, to help support commercial decision making by generating meaningful intelligence. You'll collaborate cross-functionally, particularly across credit risk, business development, operations, and finance; to extract valuable insights that drive informed decision-making.
What you'll be doing:
Business Intelligence and Process Improvement:
Perform field analysis to translate business questions into data-driven solutions.
Assess customer behaviour, addressing concerns, and creating better touchpoints, to enhance the overall customer experience and improve conversion rates.
Champion hypothesis testing throughout the organisation to ensure statistical robustness and reliability of findings.
Data Engineering:
Contribute to the continued development and maintenance of existing data-warehouses and SQL servers
Collect, clean, and preprocess data to connect operational systems, data for analytics, and business intelligence (BI) systems.
Support dataset production and automation for third-party suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Perform exploratory data analysis to identify anomalies and errors in source data.
Reporting and Documentation:
Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Create clear presentable dashboards and management information flows.
Present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders in an understandable manner.
Document data processes, methodologies, and findings.
What do we need from you?
Strong proficiency in Microsoft SQL and the Microsoft SQL Server stack is essential.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Excel, SSRS, Tableau, Power BI).
Experience with Python, R or similar statistical package preferred.
Bachelor's degree in a STEM subject, or equivalent industry experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analytics/data engineering.
Experience with consumer finance preferred.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
