Job Title: Data & Analytics Lead (12 Month Fixed Term Contract)
Location: Peterborough (Hybrid)

ABF Business Technology Services is looking for a talented Data & Analytics Lead to join our growing Strategic Planning & Operational Excellence function. In this role, you will work across the full data lifecycle, from gathering requirements and ETL processes to reporting and visualisation - delivering insights that help the business make smarter, faster decisions. You'll also play a key part in evolving our analytics capabilities with agentic AI and automation.
What you'll be doing:

• Lead the end-to-end data and analytics lifecycle, from requirements gathering and data architecture to ETL, modelling, and visualisation.
• Collect, analyse, and transform large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders effectively.
• Drive data quality, integrity, and governance across BTS.
• Enable BTS with data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement, act proactively before issues arise, eliminate root causes, and demonstrate measurable improvements delivered.
• Design and deliver data solutions across complex legacy environments, challenging stakeholder requests and recommending fit-for-purpose approaches aligned to business needs.
• Enable data-driven decision-making to support operational excellence initiatives.
• Facilitate workshops and interviews with stakeholders to identify use cases and data improvement opportunities.
• Explore and implement agentic AI and automation to enhance analytics capabilities for future-state models.

What you'll bring:

• Strong experience in SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft data tools (e.g. Data Factory, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric).
• Proven experience in ETL, data modelling, and data visualisation.
• Solid understanding of data strategy, governance, and data quality principles.
• Proficiency in data language tools such as DAX, Python, Hadoop and R for data manipulation and analysis
• Experience of evolving technologies i.e. Big Data, Real Time Analytics, Predictive Analytics, Bots
• Experience with machine learning and emerging AI/automation technologies is highly desirable.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and business communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into data solutions.
• Strong understanding of business operations, with the ability to align data analysis and insights to strategic and operational business goals.
• Problem-solving skills and strategic mindset.
• Experience in solution design and managing complex legacy estates.
• Knowledge of ServiceNow as an analytics platform is a plus.

Location
Hybrid, a mix of office and homeworking. This role will be based at our Peterborough offices on the Lynchwood Business Park.
