The Opportunity: At Landmark we are the UK’s leading custodian of Land and Property search information. Our exceptional teams of analysts and scientists lead the way in continuously creating and innovating new ways to make our data go further. We are seeking a data architect to be responsible for designing and owning the data architecture of our modern cloud-based software solutions. The Data Architect will work hand-in-hand with Landmark Solutions engineering leads and Landmark group’s Architecture function to produce scalable, secure and performant solutions that meet our customer's needs.
Landmark build large scale, high impact solutions addressing real world problems, some of which are used by virtually all UK residents. Our solutions are in both Azure and AWS and as such we would prefer the successful candidate, while specialising in one area to be interested and capable of architecting solutions in both technology stacks. This is a cutting-edge technical leadership role and requires the applicant to have authority, accuracy, and consistency within all communications.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create large scale data solutions, following industry best practices in technologies such as Databricks and platforms such as Azure & AWS
  • Guide and mentor development teams, upskilling as necessary to reduce dependency on the architecture team
  • Careful consideration of NFR’s to ensure that focus is placed across the application portfolio
  • Provide high quality, relevant and accurate technical leadership in the architecting of cloud data solutions and their components
  • Own and evangelise about technology choices made within your portfolio and ensure alignment with Landmark enterprise architecture standards
  • Provide support for innovation & new ideas and ensure product team members feel empowered to challenge the way we do things
  • Definition and documentation of solutions architecture patterns & practices that provide guidance and consistency in our developments
  • Clearly communicate options and recommendations that enable product features to be released on time, with an agreed scope and to the required quality
  • Drive the solution architecture through all stages of delivery, adapting where relevant and influencing others as appropriate
  • Management of architectural risk through formal channels and architectural reviews


Engage in customer focused activities, supporting Landmark Information Group and ensuring the product team produces solutions that are highly relevant to the market About You: Our ideal Data Architect has excellent knowledge of technology environments, including software architectures, application architectures, Cloud, Mobile and associated programming techniques, with a Particular focus on Azure Cloud Architecture.
