The Role







We are looking for a Data Architect to join us!





Our Data Architect will be instrumental in delivering our unified data framework that speaks the language of our business. Leveraging your deep expertise in underwriting--especially across exposure management, pricing, and submission management --you'll help shape and execute our enterprise-wide data strategy. Your work will ensure that high-quality, cloud-native data flows seamlessly across teams, powering smarter decisions and unlocking new value at every level.





Whilst this role has no management responsibilities, this is a great path for someone who is looking to become a leader or manager in the future.

Key Accountabilities





Strong experience designing data solutions that support the complex workflows of underwriting, including submission management, exposure and coverage structures, pricing models, and policy accounting (premiums, commissions). You understand the nuances of dealing with pre and post bound underwriting data Using your expert knowledge and adoption of data architecture frameworks, such as DAMA, to manage data across the enterprise and ensure the uplift in usability Define, manage, and ensure adoption of the company wide information model and data dictionary as the foundation of data standardisation Provide the design and overall governance for the physical data model of our company wide Single Version of Truth which will be the foundation for all data analytics Create and govern the adoption of data standards across the business processes, applications, and analytics services Co-ordinate alignment across the business's data priorities To develop and maintain strong operational and strategic relationships with key internal customers within the business Define and ensure adherence to overall data and analytics architecture Provide technical leadership and architecture direction to the engineering, architecture and analysts who will implement according to your vision Be a knowledge partner for our senior leadership to ensure the importance of data architecture and our journey is clear from the top Create data standards using information models and data dictionaries which can be adopted by software and data engineers for consistent, standardised data sharing Provide transparency of the companies end to end data flows across our transactional landscape and the lineage of transactional data into the analytical tools Maintain a key focus on customer experience (clients, brokers, and policyholders) ensuring data becomes a key enabler to connect and manage our business end to end Support and advocate an innovative data architecture culture Ensure high quality data models are delivered in tight collaboration with business team members in an agile fashion Ensure data meets our strict regulatory and regional security requirements for access and personal data protection Provide creative insights, implications, and recommendations about current and future data trends and areas for improvement, focus or investment Works closely with senior IT management to ensure successful data architecture roadmap development Identifies and allocates resources to deliver demand to internal stakeholders Monitors return on investment on data architecture outcomes and activities to ensure a positive return Keep abreast of industry news and trends and perform regular market research to analyse the competitive landscape to proactively address competitive threats, inform the product roadmap and anticipate market trends and evolving client needs



Knowledge, Skills and experience





A proven conceptual and strategic thinker who is capable of distilling, packaging, and presenting complex information in a clear, concise, and compelling manner Proven track record successfully leading data architecture initiatives to meet companywide requirements Ability to deliver data architecture within an agile delivery environment, reducing the time to production for architecture decisions and solutions but maintain a high quality Can explain how you have introduced or used governance processes to ensure delivery teams align to the data standards you and your team set, whilst not impacting delivery timelines for projects An entrepreneurial and creative approach to developing new, innovative ideas that will stretch the organisation and push the boundaries in making better use of data Excellent skills and knowledge in the Azure data and analytics tech stack Qualification and experience in the following: + Data Governance and the frameworks around managing data across the enterprise
+ Information Modelling - Conceptual, Logical and into physical
+ Data Mesh, Data Warehousing , Data Lakes
+ Technically aware of the Azure data landscape
