Duties



Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables using splicing techniques to ensure high-quality connections Set up and configure network hardware including Cisco routers, switches, and Ethernet components for optimal network performance Perform cable routing, labeling, and management to maintain organized and accessible infrastructure Conduct routine inspections of cabling systems, identify issues, and perform repairs or replacements as needed Use hand tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, and torque tools to complete installations accurately Measure electrical continuity with ohmmeters and troubleshoot low voltage electrical systems related to telecommunication cabling Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure timely completion of installation projects while adhering to safety standards

Skills



Proven experience in field service roles involving telecommunication or data cabling installation Strong knowledge of fiber splicing techniques for both single-mode and multi-mode fibers Familiarity with network installation procedures involving Ethernet cabling and telephony systems Hands-on experience working with Cisco routers, switches, and other networking equipment Mechanical aptitude with the ability to use various hand tools effectively in tight spaces Understanding of low voltage electrical systems and electrical safety protocols Ability to read technical diagrams, schematics, and mechanical drawings accurately Knowledge of telecommunication standards and best practices for cabling infrastructure Experience working with ohmmeters or similar testing devices for electrical troubleshooting Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance and repair tasks
