Data Cabling Assistant / Cable Puller

The Role:

We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Data Cabling Assistant or Cable Puller.

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the structured cabling industry, with training and support provided.

You will be working as part of a team to assist with the installation, termination, patching, and testing of CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT7 cables, primarily across commercial environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist with the installation and maintenance of copper and fibre structured cabling systems

- Support the full installation of Wi-Fi systems and commercial telephone cabling

- Help with network equipment installation and configuration
- Aid in testing and commissioning of data networks

- Work on a variety of sites including schools, universities, offices, new builds, and renovation projects

- Carry tools and equipment and support the lead installer as required

- Learn proper cable handling, pulling techniques, and termination methods

Requirements:

- CSCS or ECS card preferred, but not essential
- Previous experience in trade or cabling roles beneficial but not required
- Punctual, reliable, and well presented
- Fast learner and able to work in a high-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to work independently and take initiative when needed
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Must be confident, positive, and happy to ask questions and learn on the job
- Must be able to integrate well into a team and work under pressure

Desirable Attributes:

- Experience with Cat5e, Cat6, Cat7, fibre installations, and Wi-Fi setup
- Comfortable working in commercial settings with minimal supervision
- Familiar with health and safety practices on site

Project is in Loughborough

Ideally live in Loughborough or Narborough/Enderby

(Existing engineer commutes from there to Loughborough)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: 13.00-17.50 per hour
