About the Job




This role is part of the 0ffice of the COO Business Management Team.





The Business Management team is part of the Office of the COO division ("OCOO") which also encompasses Operations, Technology, Client Management Unit, Global Supplier Management, Business Change, Workplace Services and Regulatory Oversight.


This role will provide daily support and assistance to the Data Centre Manager.


The role consists of supporting two Data Centres:


The Primary Data Centre is situated within a co-location Data Centre which is run by an external supplier and located in West London; and The Secondary Data Centre one is located at the Bank's London office; and

What you'll be doing



Support the Data Centre Manager with overall Data Centre operations and oversight Troubleshoot Network cabling and manage installs, moves and changes Update the Data Centre rack planners with guidance from the Data Centre Manager Support the Data Centre Manager on managing requests to access the Data Centres Attend and support on Data Centre-related meetings which are held with the Bank's Technology teams, the Facilities team, the Data Centre supplier, and other suppliers related to Data Centre operations Assist in maintaining documentation relating to the Data Centres (e.g. process documents, procedures, policies, business continuity plans, SharePoint) Support the Data Centre Manager on housekeeping matters relating to the Data Centres Review Management Information (MI) produced by the Data Centre supplier and produce analysis which is useful to the Bank Provide out-of-hours support, including evenings, weekends and public holidays

What you'll need to be successful



Preferred qualifications and experience:


Proven Data Centre or Technology support experience Experience of working within a structured environment where governance and risk management are paramount
Experience of Technology environments and interacting with Technology stakeholders


Experience of working with Data Centre-related suppliers and cabling vendors Qualification in structured cabling systems Strong understanding of server hardware, networks, and storage systems Familiarity with Installs, Moves and Changes and cabling standards Experience of inventory management of equipment and spares Excellent organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint
