As a Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining our data pipelines. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring that our data solutions are aligned with business goals and operational needs. This role is perfect for a self-driven individual who is excited about learning new tools, mastering new data sets, and navigating the complexities of a fast-paced business environment.

Key Responsibilities



Development and maintenance of new/current features of the data platform. Responsible for end-to-end delivery of development projects. Required to work within the architectural boundaries of the Future data platform. Development with cost of ownership in mind. Utilise established software engineering practices and principles. Takes ownership of BAU processes, develops area-specific domain mastery, and seeks means to automate them or reduce their impact. Take ownership of their own learning needs and seek to develop themselves professionally, asking for help where needed. Size work and communicate expected delivery timeframes to stakeholders Ensure compliance matters are adhered to appropriately Apply appropriate monitoring mechanisms to ensure we catch any issues proactively Utilise CI/CD and infrastructure as code (Terraform) for rapid deployment of changes Deploy code to version control and participate in code review processes Provide appropriate documentation for pipelines developed Parameterise pipelines so configuration can be changed easily without having to perform deep changes to the codebase Apply appropriate testing principles to ensure code is fit for purpose
What do I need to succeed?

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field 2+ years of experience building and operating within data platforms Proficiency in Python or another general purpose language 2+ years of experience in cloud based technologies (AWS/GCP/Azure) Strong written and verbal communication skills including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical audiences

This is a Hybrid role from our Bath Office, working three days from the office, two from home
