Job Summary




We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Data Engineer to join our growing data team at Trustmarque. This role is key to shaping our data-driven future, supporting the creation of scalable data pipelines, and ensuring our infrastructure is optimised for insight-led decision-making. You'll be at the heart of building systems that fuel innovation across the business.

What you'll be doing:




Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric to support operational and analytics requirements Translate business needs into technical data solutions, working closely with cross-functional teams to define specifications and deliver high-quality results Optimise data flows, automate manual processes, and improve the efficiency of data delivery and governance frameworks Ensure data quality, consistency and compliance through rigorous documentation, audits and implementation of best practices Lead on the implementation of data governance, including access controls, encryption, and secure storage Support data scientists and analysts with well-structured datasets and intuitive data models that align with governance standards Troubleshoot data issues and proactively identify areas for performance improvement across the data landscape

You'll also:




Contribute to the development of machine learning readiness by enhancing infrastructure for large-scale data ingestion Own documentation and lineage tracking to ensure traceability and transparency across all data projects Lead stakeholder engagement on data-related initiatives, offering technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle Help build a culture of data integrity, quality, and collaboration across the wider organisation

Here's what we're looking for:




2-3 years of hands-on experience in a Data Engineering role, working with tools like Python, SQL, or Java Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes and experience building robust pipelines Experience designing data models and implementing data architecture to support business goals Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, OneLake or similar cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and large-scale data storage optimisation Understanding of data governance frameworks, privacy standards and compliance practices Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical requirements into practical solutions

Bonus points:




Experience working in a regulated or highly secure data environment Exposure to machine learning pipelines or predictive modelling support Background in project ownership or team leadership within a data function Interest in continuous improvement, innovation and new technologies Familiarity with BI tools and reporting systems
