Job Description

About Unity Advisory

Unity Advisory is a new-generation professional services firm built for an AI-enabled world. We operate a lean, conflict-free, and client-centric model that integrates advanced technology and AI into every workstream.

With no audit practice, we are free from traditional conflicts and legacy silos. This allows us to move faster, collaborate openly, and focus entirely on creating value for clients. Our flat structure and collaborative culture empower exceptional people to deliver exceptional work.

We combine deep advisory expertise with cutting-edge data, AI, and commercial insight to help clients navigate complex challenges faster, smarter, and with greater clarity. At Unity, we are redefining how expert advisory is delivered--one innovative engagement at a time.

The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and commercially minded Data & Insights Lead to own and drive Unity Advisory's data and insights capability. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for shaping our data strategy, building scalable and modern data foundations, and embedding data as a trusted enabler of decision-making across the firm.

You will partner closely with firm leadership, product, delivery, and compliance teams to deliver actionable insights, operational efficiencies, and scalable growth--both internally and for our clients. This role offers the opportunity to build and mature a best-in-class data function within a fast-scaling, AI-driven advisory business.

This is a highly visible role with significant influence over how data is used to drive strategy, performance, and innovation at Unity Advisory.

What You'll Do

Own and deliver Unity Advisory's data and insights vision, designing and optimising a modern, scalable data architecture and stack. Lead the development of robust data models, semantic layers, and transformation workflows using DBT, SQL, and Python. Define and implement data governance, quality, and compliance frameworks, ensuring alignment with GDPR, cookies, and relevant industry regulations. Build and embed a strong self-service analytics culture using BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, and PowerBI, enabling teams to make data-driven decisions. Lead the optimisation of data tracking and collection frameworks, with a focus on high-quality first-party data strategies (e.g. Snowplow). Deliver measurable efficiency gains through automation, improved processes, and thoughtful technology choices. Partner with senior stakeholders to ensure data solutions directly support commercial and strategic priorities. Establish best practices across data engineering, observability, documentation, testing, and knowledge sharing. Support experimentation with advanced analytics and AI/ML use cases where appropriate. This role will initially operate in a hands?on capacity, with the opportunity to shape and build a data team as the function scales

What You Bring

7+ years' experience leading data, analytics, and BI functions in complex organisations or consulting environments. Strong commercial mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable business insight. Deep expertise across:

BI & Analytics: Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, hex.tech, Streamlit

Data Modelling & Transformation: DBT, SQL, Python

Warehousing & ETL: Snowflake, BigQuery, Fivetran, Airbyte, Snowpipe

Cloud Platforms: AWS and/or Google Cloud
Proven experience designing and embedding data governance, quality, and compliance frameworks (including GDPR and cookie compliance). Track record of building self-service analytics capabilities and scaling data culture across organisations. Demonstrated success in driving measurable efficiency improvements and cost savings through data and automation. Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing senior leaders. Programme and change management experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Asana. Comfortable operating in a hands-on, fast-growth, entrepreneurial environment.

Nice to Have

Exposure to AI/ML experimentation and applied use cases. Experience in professional services, advisory, or project-based environments. Background in building data capabilities from early or scaling stages.

Working at Unity Advisory

A truly hybrid and flexible working environment. We offer the opportunity to be at the forefront of AI-driven advisory services. You'll be part of a high-impact finance function, empowered to shape how we scale our systems and processes. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing business and accelerate your finance career.
