An ambitious, energetic and committed Data Manager and Exams Officer is sought to join our school. This is a key position within the administration team, to ensure the efficient management of the school's examination, assessment and reporting procedures.

CONTRACT: Consideration will be given to full-time or term-time plus 3 weeks.

37 hours per week. Start time is typically 8 am.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and Academy Business Manager

The post would be suitable for someone with a background in data analysis, full training will be provided with regards to exams and cover.

KEY PURPOSE:



Under the guidance of senior management, you will be responsible for assessment and reporting procedures. You will be responsible for the efficient management of the school's entries to all public examinations; ensuring that the school adheres to the legal framework for the Joint Council for Qualifications and for all examination bodies. You will also manage the cover system. You will ensure that systems and procedures are in place for these functions and you manage the relevant staff to provide an effective and efficient service.

This post contributes to continuous improvement in young people's learning experiences. You will set a positive personal example of a friendly and respectful service, and have a special regard for the development and needs of young people. This will be achieved through excellent attendance, punctuality and meticulous attention to detail in the planning and implementation of the systems and accurate record keeping.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



DATA:



To provide personal, administrative, organisational and strategic support to the Deputy Headteacher responsible for Data Management.

To manage and take full responsibility for practical and procedural knowledge of the assessment programme on the school's MIS system, third party software and for reporting procedures

Processing and creation of accurate, confidential data for relevant bodies i.e. Headteacher, SLT, Governors, DFE, parents, pupils, etc.

To ensure the databases contains accurate assessment information.

Working independently and using own initiative to organise own workload, and other support staff, to meet critical deadlines within the school calendar.

Respond independently to unanticipated problems and situations, consulting with the Deputy Headteacher for advice and guidance for serious problems.

EXAMS:



To be responsible for all exam policies and protocols, updating them accordingly and in line with regular JCQ updates.

Responsibility for examination entries for public exams to the examination boards

Oversee the daily running of public examinations

Produce guidelines for staff and pupils on examination procedures and conduct

Be present on the day the centre is notified of results of public examinations

Plan for internal examinations, including timetable, rooming, and invigilation.

Disseminate information about exams to staff, students and parents.

COVER



To lead and manage cover, working with colleagues to ensure schedules of work are in place whilst maximising staff resources.

To be responsible for the day to day management of an efficient and effective cover system to ensure the school is compliant with 'Rarely Cover' procedures.

Arrange an effective allocation of cover for planned pre-approved absences of teaching staff, and early morning notification of unexpected absences.

Maintain a teaching supply list, including sourcing new staff, to ensure sufficient quality staff are available when required. Liaise daily with supply agencies and book appropriate staff as required.

To work in liaison with the Deputy Headteacher in charge of cover to discuss the day's work and undertake appropriate planning for the day/weekly cover arrangements.

To be responsible for emergency cover throughout the day including room changes if required.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES



To be aware of the School's duty of care in relation to staff, students and visitors and to comply with the health and safety policies at all times.

To establish and maintain positive, constructive and professional working relationships with staff, visitors, students, parents and all other stakeholders of the school.

To be aware of and comply with the codes of conduct, regulations and policies of the School and its commitment to equal opportunities. Act in a courteous way at all times in communications with both colleagues and other school stakeholders.

To ensure that any issues identified as falling under the remit of the Exams Officer and Data Manager role is satisfactorily resolved

To undertake specific tasks as identified by the Headteacher as and when required.
