We are looking for a Data Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join GLT / Wallington County Grammar School and become an integral member of the Administrative team.

Main responsibilities:
Data Analysis
Analyse data to inform performance targets and to enable colleagues to direct appropriate support to students and staff, using assessment and examination data, and other sources;
Set up systems and processes in the MIS, to provide regular performance reporting to different user groups, in a format best suited to end use;
Provide ad hoc analysis, as required, within the MIS or using other data analysis tools as appropriate;
Using functions within the available software develop push and alerting systems to deliver timely data analysis to users;
Distribute data analysis from external providers to colleagues in the most appropriate format.
Reports to Parents
Prepare the MIS for the collection of data for pupil reports;
Manage all stages of the reporting process, ensuring parents receive accurate reports.
MIS Development and Maintenance
Assist with the development of the MIS and associated products to meet School and Trust needs;
Assist with design, implementation and testing of improved or new processes;
Maintain functionality of processes and developments in the MIS and associated systems;
Assist with the administration of MIS accounts for staff, parents and students;
Produce documentation of processes, as required;
Contribute to the formulation of the School's data strategy.
Data Management
Ensure the accuracy and completeness of data in the MIS and associated systems; liaising with staff, parents, students to fulfill this requirement (alongside the registrar);
Facilitate the exchange of CTF files and other forms of data exchange when students move schools (alongside the registrar);
Manage and administer data exchange with approved external data analysis providers in a timely manner;
Liaise with the Trust, working with the Systems and Integration team to exchange data in a timely way, and cooperating with other data managers in the Trust;
Assist with the development of policies and procedures to promote and maintain data integrity within the School;
Maintain a clear understanding of the Data Protection regulations and the implications that they have for managing and protecting school data, help to ensure that the school complies with all applicable data protection regulations, and help to fulfill GDPR requests such as FOI requests and SAR.
Statutory Returns
Prepare and maintain the functions within the MIS for enabling data collection for statutory returns;
Prepare and check data for the statutory returns to ensure they are accurate and submitted on time;
Maintain an awareness and inform others in the School of changes in statutory data recording and collection that have potential implications for school funding;
Maintain a register of student mobility, students taught out of year and other information of importance for census purposes;
Maintain post-16 learning aims for appropriate durations in the academic year to meet statutory requirements;
Prepare and check data for accuracy to meet new or changing statutory requirements, to include Pupil Premium
Curriculum Management
Assist with yearly curriculum management processes such as options, allocations, curriculum plan, pastoral structure, promotion mapping, as required;
Assist in any student changes or additions, applying set and timetable changes etc. as required, working closely with the timetabler and middle management;
Produce and distribute lists for checking and those for end use at appropriate times in the academic year;
Assist with sixth form admissions and progression in August.
Training
Devise and deliver training to user groups on MIS and other analysis tools' functionality as defined by the training needs analysis or to meet ad hoc requirements. Some of these may be timed to take place at the end of the timetabled day.
You will need:
Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent, particularly with strong numeracy and literacy skills.
Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) in IT or Data Management
Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, Formulae)
Proven experience working with complex databases and large datasets
Experience in analysing data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
Experience working in a fast-paced administrative environment with strict deadlines
Experience producing reports for various stakeholders with a high degree of accuracy
Analytical Skills: Ability to manipulate and interpret complex data to inform decision-making
IT Systems: Strong technical aptitude for learning and managing Management Information Systems (MIS)
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills
Excellent communicator - sensitive, compassionate and effective
Excellent customer services, communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organised and able to use initiative to resolve problems independently and within timescales
Ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands
