We're looking for a reliable, numerate and detail-driven Data Operative to help manage and reconcile critical banking data, ensuring every penny is accounted for with precision and care.
Role Purpose
To complete daily banking and reconciliation tasks accurately and efficiently, including processing cheques and cash, preparing banking documentation, and producing reconciliation reports. You'll play a vital role in ensuring our clients receive a dependable and compliant service - even during our busiest times.
Key Responsibilities
Data Entry - Enter financial and transactional data into internal systems with a high level of accuracy.
Report Generation - Produce and file reconciliation reports in line with internal and client deadlines.
Banking Reconciliation - Accurately reconcile incoming funds (cheques and cash) against supporting data, donation slips, and batch records.
Bank Preparation - Prepare and maintain daily bank books and lodgement slips in accordance with Elovate's and clients' processes.
Accuracy Checks - Ensure all figures are reconciled precisely before banking, identifying and correcting errors promptly.
Complete Whitemail tasks - Such as identifying rejects and resolving them, generating reports and handling Customer Service letters
Communication -Liaise with internal departments and, where required, client contacts to resolve discrepancies or confirm information.
Deadline Management - Meet strict daily and weekly deadlines, particularly during peak donation or campaign periods.
Compliance - Adhere to all relevant financial handling, confidentiality, and data protection protocols.
Continuous Improvement -Flag recurring issues and support process improvement to reduce risk and improve efficiency.
Team Collaboration - Work closely with colleagues across the Fulfilment and Customer Service teams to meet strict deadlines, especially during high-volume periods. This may include additional tasks such as supporting with opening Post and scanning documents
Skills and Experiences required:
Previous experience in a finance, data processing, or reconciliation role
Highly numerate with excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach
Proven ability to work accurately under pressure and to strict deadlines
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Confident using spreadsheets, databases, and internal systems (e.g. Excel, CRM or banking software)
Reliable, calm and professional - even in high-pressure or time-sensitive scenarios
A proactive team player who takes ownership of their responsibilities
Understanding of financial procedures and basic accounting principles is advantageous
