Overall purpose


The Data Team Manager, will manage a team of Account Managers responsible for delivering core Data Management services: Packaging, WEEE & Batteries data submissions, Weights collection, Customer reporting, Bespoke reporting, Industry standard reporting e.g. Courtauld & PACT and Insight Platform delivery.


They will use their skills in leadership & customer focus, process management, & regulatory knowledge to deliver these services.


The data submitted on behalf of the department's customers will meet regulatory requirements & customer expectations, the Data Team Manager will ensure that they have the correct level of resource and skill set assigned to achieve this. The ability to successfully lead a team to complete complex tasks & meet tight deadlines is essential to this role. They will also work towards the continuous improvement of processes relating to the department.


The Data Team Manager will work towards increasing revenue by identifying customers where the service offering could be extended, identifying additional services for the team & adding value to core services.

Encouraging & supporting the Account Managers in developing their industry knowledge & in managing their own accounts Regular review of the relationships between the Account Managers & customers to ensure that appropriate levels of communication are occurring with the account Ensuring Account Managers are communicating with & supporting Strategic Account Managers & Account Directors with their account Developing knowledge of the customers CSR objectives & core values Developing suitable KPIs to ensure continued improvement in customer service delivery & data submission quality


Effectively manage & support a team of Account Managers



Recruitment, line management & professional development through one to ones and personal development plans. Providing encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals & identifying training gaps or areas where skill checks are required Conducting team meetings to update on best practices, continuing expectations, & to facilitate knowledge sharing Ensuring that the appropriate training schedule is delivered to each team member Fielding answers to team member questions


Deliver data compliance



Ensuring that all deliverables are completed within agreed timeframes & to a high level of accuracy Facilitating an escalation process to support the provision of data in a timely manner Overseeing task prioritisation & resource allocation


Futureproof & expand the department



Developing the data management service to ensure it continually meets member needs Monitoring & reviewing legislative & reporting developments, & co-ordinating new data collection, data storage, & data reporting methods to keep pace with these changes Seek out opportunities for continuous improvement within the department


To ensure departmental planning and procedures are followed



Scheduling, co-ordinating & delivering BCS testing, & addressing any non-conformances Succession planning Reviewing contracts & supporting the delivery & return of renewals Ensure compliance with ISO standards Identify, raise & safeguard against risks

Qualifications


Educated to degree level or equivalent Previous operational experience Previous management experience desirable
