Travelfusion is the world's largest travel B2B content aggregator for low cost airline flights powering the ability to search and book these flights on leading online, business and leisure travel agents websites, mobile sites and call centres worldwide.



The business also offers a wide range of full service airlines, hotels and rail companies on its platform. In addition Travelfusion has developed a range of payments services, tfPay, which manages payments and reconciliations for millions of air tickets. We are a dynamic SaaS technology company, rapidly growing profitable business with 160 employees based in London, Shanghai and Thessaloniki.



The Role





Due to continued organisational growth and an increasing demand for robust data infrastructure, we are actively expanding our engineering team to include an experienced and skilled Data Platform Engineer.


This pivotal role will be central to our strategic initiatives, with a core focus on the end-to-end lifecycle of our data ecosystem. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable and efficient databases, ensuring data integrity, performance, and accessibility. Furthermore, a significant part of the role will involve the development and optimisation of complex data pipelines, facilitating the seamless flow of information from various sources to our analytical and operational platforms. This will encompass everything from data ingestion and transformation to orchestration and monitoring, utilising cutting-edge technologies to support our evolving data needs.




The role will report to the CTO and will require 3 days per week minimum to be based in our Central London office.

What you'll be doing




Design and implement robust, scalable and efficient database schemas for various applications and data warehousing needs Optimise database performance through indexing, partitioning and query tuning Ensure data integrity and security through appropriate access controls, backup strategies and recovery procedures Collaborate with development teams to integrate database solutions with new and existing applications Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for database designs and data models Ensure data is structured and accessible for analysis


What experience you'll have




Design, develop and maintain robust data pipelines for efficient data ingestion, transformation and loading from various sources into data warehouses, encompassing expertise in big data tools such as

ClickHouse

Implement comprehensive data quality checks and rigorous monitoring processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness and consistency of data Optimise data pipeline performance and scalability to effectively manage and process substantial volumes of data A high performing, detail orientated individual with relevant experience in a fast paced, dynamic tech business Educated to degree level or equivalent commercial experience
