Location: Warwickshire/Hybrid

Salary: \xc2\xa338-46,000 + bonus + great benefits

As the Data Privacy Specialist within the Group head office you will take responsibility for leading and driving the company\'s data privacy agenda. Reporting into divisional managers in both the UK and Europe this is a highly visible role for an individual who has the capability to create & deliver an outstanding agenda. The role:

  • To act as the Privacy Officer in the requirements of GDPR and the need to respond to Data Subject Access Requests in a robust and timely manner.
  • To ensure effective and proportionate measures are in place to identify and protect personal information.
  • To link in with various projects and change mandates to ensure Privacy is considered before changes are implemented.
  • Support the development and delivery of data protection and privacy training and awareness programs for the company and our colleagues, consistent with the scope of the established Privacy Framework.
  • Develop and maintain business relations with all stakeholders across the organisation, particularly Internal Audit, Legal, Finance & the QSHE team.
  • Ensure a framework of data and privacy policies are in place, managed, updated, and adhered to by the organisation.
  • Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments for all changes implemented
  • Develop best practice solutions in Data and Privacy by bringing in examples of excellence from within group companies and from third parties.
  • To liaise with the Compliance Manager and compliance team on all aspects of Privacy.
  • Interface with the Information Commissioners Office in the UK when required.
  • Lead investigation into any data/privacy breaches and liaise with Group and the ICO when required.
  • Act as an expert advisor on all privacy matters
The Person:
  • Educated to degree level, ideally within law or a legal discipline
  • Expert in Data Protection and GDPR regulation & awareness of other areas of legislation/regulation
  • Proven Experience of working in similar roles that span both compliance and risk.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to work with large amounts of data.
  • Ability to influence others to comply with defined standards and requirements of new operating procedures.
  • Process orientated.
  • Understanding/ability to both promote and support the need for change.
  • Experience of communicating with stakeholders at all levels in the organisation and including auditors and external regulators.
