Investigative and intuitive mind-set, got knowledge of Data Protection legislation, guidance and codes of practice, have experience of working in an administration or coordination role? These are just some of the skills you\'ll bring, to be our Data Protection Administrator. With Offices in Salford Quays, Manchester and Haywards Heath, West Sussex, we\'re pretty flexible on your location .. you\'ll spend most of your time working from home, with a couple of days per month in the office. But of course, it\'s your choice - if you prefer to be in the office more - that\'s good with us too.

Supporting the Data Protection Team you\'ll ensure the team operate tiptop, whilst \'championing\' data protection rights, privacy by design and building a compliance culture. Being our first point of contact for queries into the team, you\'ll be organised approachable and keen to help!

  • You know Data Protection legislation, guidance and codes of practice like the back of your hand
  • Your great at problem solving and find resolutions
  • Administration and co-ordination are in you toolkit
Job responsibilities:
  • To co-ordinate work undertaken by the team this includes categorisation and assignment of tasks from the data protection inbox, maintaining review schedules and ensuring any action deadlines are appropriately understood and completed by the team.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for queries into the team and doing so in a timely manner or escalating where needed.
  • Support the team in maintaining appropriate and accurate data protection request, data breach or issue registers and other associated logs of evidence required for supporting data protection compliance.
  • Support in the collating and evaluating of personal and sensitive data, applying legal exemptions and challenge to requests and concerns raised in accordance with data protection law and in accordance with legally prescribed timeframes.
  • Support in engaging external data processors, including claim accident investigators, debt recovery panel solicitors as required in the delivery and resolution of requests and queries.
  • To support the business in improving data protection compliance through raising awareness and the championing of privacy by design and default.
  • Take part in testing and associated research to support in the recommendation of improvements to compliance and management of risk.
  • To conduct data quality checks and ensure statistics and data are accurate for data protection reporting.
  • To assist in the production of management information reports.
  • To monitor and ensure that all policies, procedure, and standards are up to date in accordance with the documentation framework.
Job-specific competencies
Experience & knowledge
  • Experience of working in an administration or co-ordination role
  • Experience of processing information rights requests (desired, but not essential).
Skills & Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong IT and software skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Problem solving skills with the ability to translate problems and find resolutions
  • Investigative and intuitive mind-set is essential
  • Knowledge of Data Protection legislation, guidance and codes of practice
  • Overview knowledge of other legislations (i.e. Companies Act, Health and Safety at Work Act)
