Location: Cornwall. Training period in our office near Truro, hybrid/remote working thereafter.

Essential:

Applicants mustlive in Cornwall. Graduate in a subject that requires mathematics / statistics or similar. Highly skilled in Excel and confidently competent with other Microsoft programmes. (This will be tested at interview). Skills to include the ability to cross-reference to and from multiple databases and files, create a wide range of charts and tables, export and link these to other programmes (e.g. Word, PowerPoint), so that each end report will update in line with your source database. Capable of creating and editing in Adobe Acrobat, including applying security levels, setting bookmarks, etc. Independent research. As well as being able to update databases and spreadsheets from existing known sources, you should also be interested in and capable of seeking out new, reliable, publicly-available data sources. are a small, decades-old consulting firm.

The job may not be particularly rockstar in nature, but despite that, most of our small team have worked with the firm for around 20-30 years. We believe this is because we treat our employees like people, not machines. For example, we value results more than rigid start times, so to some extent, you will be free to structure your workday as you choose (after the initial training period).

Your responsibilities will specifically include researching/retrieving monthly data from a wide range of sources that we will show you, and then inputting the data into our existing models, ready for use in our regular publications. Your work will mostly involve updating existing Excel files, tables and charts, as well as sometimes creating new ones. You will then import and link data/tables/charts into our publications and/or update existing linked tables/charts.

Additionally, depending on your other interests and how your initial (6-month) trial period goes, there could also be opportunities to pitch in with marketing and admin activities, as a secondary part of your role.
