Job Purpose



We have a fantastic opportunity for a data-driven individual who has a passion to develop and maintain the in-house data warehouse and deliver creative reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience in this area, with a solid understanding and previous exposure to the insurance industry.


Our Data & Analytics function is crucial in supporting the implementation of business strategy and international business growth by championing decision making and innovation through data-driven approaches.


The is a full-time permanent position based in our London office with the opportunity to work within a hybrid working environment. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of and shape Oneglobal's growing international network of offices. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, be proactive, be a strong communicator and keen to develop their skillset and technical knowledge.


Key Accountabilities



Lead on developing, maintaining and managing the data warehouse Lead on sourcing, analysing and transforming the data from existing systems into the data warehouse Actively contribute to provision of Power BI reports and dashboards to internal and external partners Development, visualization, and distribution of Power BI reports Responsible for engaging and managing stakeholders across our international offices Researching and proposal technical solutions to solve business challenges Work alongside the data analytics lead to deliver strategic solutions to the business

Skills & Knowledge



Technical Skills - Data Warehouse



Superior knowledge of data warehouse structure and function Manage and maintain data warehouse code Superior hands-on knowledge of implementing ETL processes Experience of integrating multiple systems in one data warehouse Design and document processes, data flows, lineage Planning and scheduling of data warehouse routines

Technical Skills - SQL Server Database



Develop SQL server database solutions Advanced knowledge of writing SQL queries, stored procedures and functions using T-SQL Analyse existing SQL queries, debug issues and improve Performance optimization, indexing Experience using database mail (dbmail) SQL Server job agent Comfortable working with structured and semi-structured data files (CSV, Excel, XML, JSON).

Technical Skills - Power BI



Prototype, design, develop and publish Power BI Reports Develop Power BI Data models and recommend best practices for report creation and visualisations Use different Power BI visuals, data transformation module, Power query and DAX Troubleshoot reporting issues and tune report performance Implement security in reports and dashboards in accordance with security and access requirements

Technical Skills - Data Projects & Development



Experience managing data projects from discovery to delivery, balancing business value and technical feasibility. Foundational development knowledge including Python (data manipulation, automation scripts, API integration). Able to work with REST APIs to consume external data, such as risk models or compliance checks, and integrate into SQL or Power BI. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and working within structured development environments. Use of Power Apps and Power Automate to build no-code/low-code solutions and workflows, including SharePoint list integration and form submissions

Technical Skills - Other



Knowledge of Master Data Management Knowledge of data migration Knowledge of Sharepoint lists Awareness of SQL Server Integration Services Awareness of SQL Server Reporting Services Working with flat files and structured data load

Functional Skillset - Business



Working knowledge of insurance domain (policies, transactions, premiums, claims) is essential Working knowledge of insurance broking (counterparties e.g., clients, underwriters, brokerage) and Lloyd's market is highly desirable Knowledge of financial accounting (general ledger, financial statements e.g., balance sheet, P&L, trial balance, debit / credit concepts) is highly desirable

Soft Skillset



Skills to engage with and manage stakeholders is essential Clearly communicate with business users on the issues, requirements and deliverables is essential Analytically minded with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to use own initiative and work autonomously or as part of a team.
