The Role

You and your Team

As a Test Lead, you will be responsible for allocating resources to perform all types of testing across the value streams of portfolio projects within the Data Engineering team. You will bring a testing specialisation and strong all-round knowledge across the following areas: Data Testing, Cross-Platform Integration Testing, Automation Testing, Functional Testing, Performance Testing, and Business Testing.

You will champion best practices, standards, continuous improvement, and the efficient reuse of testing frameworks across delivery streams. You will provide ongoing guidance by assessing best practices, monitoring results, and ensuring the quality of software delivery. In partnership with the Test Strategy Manager, you will also evaluate new tools, processes, and techniques to drive streamlined efficiencies and embed best practices across the Group.

As a Data Test Lead, your responsibilities;

Provide technical leadership for automation, development & improvisation of automation test suites. Managing a team of Testers. Enhancing automation footprint and enabling shift left approach. Working closely with Non-functional test manager to review non-functional requirements, scripts to improve performance and consistency. Test Lead will also be responsible to agree and prioritise test types prior to releases. Guiding, evaluate and help in decision of new tools, technologies for automation. Build working relationships and influencing quality across other disciplines. Develop and execute automated scenarios and drive the team to come up with best solutions for quicker release to market. Accountability for quality of value streams in liaison with business and other stakeholders. Oversight of test reporting, defining and tracking test quality & defect metrics.

What We're Looking For

Proven experience delivering Test Strategies and leading large-scale testing initiatives, including data migration/transformation programmes. Strong knowledge of testing across Data, Integration, Automation, Functional and Non-Functional areas, as well as ETL and large multi-tier systems. Experience establishing and managing secure, compliant Test Data Management processes. Strong understanding of Agile testing principles, test processes, quality assurance and test efficiency. Demonstrated expertise in people management, including team leadership, mentoring, coaching and performance planning. Ability to identify risks and opportunities, develop mitigation plans, and drive continuous improvement. Skilled in stakeholder management, with the ability to influence, communicate clearly and build effective relationships across the organisation and with third-party suppliers. Experience working in regulated environments, ideally within the financial sector. Strong defect management capability and experience communicating complex technical concepts to business stakeholders. Technical testing skills across Azure DevOps, TDD/BDD, Snowflake, SQL, Salesforce, MuleSoft, Jira, CI/CD, .NET and Python.
