Morgan Stanley are looking for an experienced database engineer / infrastructure developer having practical experience with the NewSQL architecture and traditional RDBMS systems. The candidate will be working on various database related infrastructure / automation projects that will require development in python and ability to analyse scripts written in legacy languages like perl/ksh.
The candidate will be responsible for development, unit level testing and integration testing.
The team are looking for a results-driven individual who can complete tasks with minimal supervision, effectively communicating and liaising with the ops team. The candidate should have a strong track record of delivering projects on time and within budget. Understanding NewSQL, RDBMS and python scripting is a core requirement.

What you'll do
Work in a globally distributed team to provide robust database platform solution on an internal cloud
Design and deploy compliant infrastructure to integrate with the required Morgan Stanley controls.
Investigate, debug and analyse any issues in raised production
Ensure all changes are unit and integration tested.
What you'll have
Strong experience with a NewSQL database
Strong experience with a RDBMS system
Strong development skills in Python
Knowledge of Linux and Kubernetes platforms
Highly skilled in ANSI SQL
Strong communication and written skills
Experience with architecting and maintaining high availability production systems
Developing monitoring architecture and implementing monitoring agents, dashboards, escalations and alerts
Knowledge of common IT processes, including ITIL and SDLC
Knowledge of working in an agile environment
