Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality support to individuals in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to enhance the lives of those in their care. As a Care Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their comfort, and promoting their independence.

Duties

Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Support individuals with mobility and physical activities to encourage independence. Communicate effectively with residents to understand their needs and preferences. Follow care plans meticulously to ensure that each resident receives personalised support. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' conditions to the nursing staff. Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their quality of life. Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement effective home care strategies. Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes as required. Drive residents to appointments or outings when necessary.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a care home or similar environment is essential. Strong communication skills in English are required for effective interaction with residents and team members. Ability to understand and follow care plans accurately. A compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care. Basic IT skills for documentation and record keeping are advantageous. A valid driving licence is desirable for transporting residents as needed. Must be willing to undergo background checks and training as required by the organisation.
