Paragon Home Healthcare is seeking a

day carer

to support a

young gentleman with a spinal cord injury

following discharge from specialist rehabilitation.

This placement focuses on supporting rehabilitation goals, building independence, and maintaining a structured daily routine in the client's own home.

This is a

day-shift position

, supporting the client during the initial transition period from hospital to home.

About the Role:

Location:

E20 - excellent transport links, close to local amenities.

Client personality:

Intelligent, motivated, and focused on regaining independence; values routine and calm, encouraging support.

Daily support:

Personal care, bowel and bladder routines, mobility support, rehabilitation exercises, meal preparation, and household tasks.

Household:

Non-smoking
No pets

Rota & Pay:

Day shift position

Shift times:

8am - 8pm

Pay rates:

Weekdays:

15.29 per hour

Weekends:

18.35 per hour

Day Care Responsibilities

Assist with washing, dressing, showering, and personal care
Support bowel and bladder routines in line with care guidance
Assist with safe transfers and wheelchair-based mobility
Support daily rehabilitation exercises as directed by therapy teams
Prepare balanced meals to support recovery and wellbeing
Maintain a clean, tidy, well-organised home
Encourage independence and follow a calm, structured routine
Observe and record wellbeing and ensure safety

Training & Support:

Paragon is a specialist provider of spinal cord injury and complex care.
You'll receive full paid training before starting, plus support to get familiar with the care routine.

No prior spinal cord injury experience required -- just warmth, reliability, and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Observe and record the client's health status
Assist with activities of daily living
Maintain a safe and clean living environment
Ensure confidentiality
Support medication routines (client self-administers)
Arrange transportation for appointments when needed
