Job Description
We are a family run Care Home, based in Porthcawl. This is one of two Homes that we run.
We are currently recruiting for day care assistant positions. The shift pattern is 7 hour shifts and some may be double shifts of 14 hours. Full time hours are 35 hrs a week. We welcome applications from both men and women.
You will, preferably already have a least a QCF/NVQ 2 in care (or working toward it) - but this is not essential, you will be provided with the opportunity to receive on the job training in order to gain this level. Your passion and attitude towards providing care for people is as important to us as the qualification. The position will be predominantly days, working to a rota, but this may change depending on the needs of the business. There will be weekend and bank holiday working days as part of this rota.
The position is subject to 2 x satisfactory references and a current enhanced DBS check. All Care workers are required to register with SCW. If you are not already registered you will be a required to register within a specified period. We will assist you with the training required to register.
Duties:
- Provide personal care and support to individuals
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Help at meal times
- Assist with mobility and transfers
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Document and report any changes in client's condition to the appropriate supervisor

- Compassionate and caring nature, treating people with dignity and respect
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team and independently
- Strong attention to detail
- Patience and empathy towards individuals with physical or cognitive limitations
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to care plans
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 12.60 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week
