Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable, dedicated and knowledgeable Nursery Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our nursery. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of early child development principles.

Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of their room, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programmes that promote children's learning and development. Supervise and support their team, providing guidance and training as necessary. Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to create a welcoming atmosphere. Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and any incidents that may occur. Coordinate activities, events, and outings that enhance children's experiences at the nursery. Ensure that the nursery environment is safe, clean, and conducive to learning. Manage resources effectively to ensure the nursery operates efficiently.

Requirements

A relevant qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (Level 5 or above). Proven experience in a supervisor role within a childcare setting is highly desirable. Strong understanding of child development theories and practices. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively. Exceptional communication skills to engage with children, parents, and staff. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative. Knowledge of current legislation relating to childcare and early years education. First Aid certification is an advantage but not essential. A valid Safegaurding certificate is desirable.
