An Exciting Opportunity has arisen to work within Whitethorns Intensive Day Service.
We are looking for a Day Support Worker (28 hours per week)
The service offers day opportunities for people with learning disabilities that require intensive interaction and positive behaviour support.
The team support people to maintain their independence & skills, whilst promoting good health & wellbeing.

This is how we will help you learn to do a great job and just a few things that may matter to you.
You will be part of a well established team.
You will be supported to do the right training, with the right support and gain the relevant understanding knowledge and skills for the role.
You will receive a thorough & paid induction that includes working alongside others within the team who will help you learn about the role.
You will receive regular supervision and guidance to help you along the way, offering you support and encouragement in your new role.
A NVQ / QCF level 2 in care or a commitment to work towards this is essential, as is a good standard of education. There will be an expectation that you complete the All Wales Induction Framework (AWIF).
Other benefits include the Excellent rate of pay, as well as an Excellent annual leave entitlement.
Support will be required 4 days per week - out of a Monday, Tuesday Wednesday, Thursday and a Friday - 7 hours per day x 4. You will also be required to work flexible hours, usually between 07.30am and 4.30pm including a 30-minute rest break during your shift.
You will also be expected to work at other day services when required. You will require a good level of fitness to effectively support a young and energetic client group in walking, swimming and other physically challenging activities.
