Day/Night Care Assistant ( 12.5hpw covering a 4-week 24/7 rota)
52 weeks per year excluding holidays.
You will work:
Week 1 & 3 - 2 days shifts each week
Week 2 & 4 - 1 night shift each week
This role will be subject to a suitable DBS check, 2 satisfactory references and the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately the salary for this post does not support the sponsorship of overseas workers.

Sisters of Mercy Whitby provides high-quality care and support to the Religious Sisters. Your primary focus will be on enhancing the quality of life for our sisters by ensuring their comfort and wellbeing is paramount and ensuring they remain independent and an active part of the community.
Duties:
- Assist sisters with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support sisters with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Help with feeding as required, promoting nutritional needs.
- Maintain accurate records of care plans and report any changes in sisters' conditions to the relevant colleagues
- Engage sisters in social activities and encourage participation to foster a sense of community.
- Communicate effectively with sisters and colleagues to ensure a cohesive approach to care.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations while maintaining a clean and organised environment.
You will have:
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is desired
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care
- Strong communication skills in English are required for effective interaction with sisters and colleagues.
- Basic IT skills are beneficial for maintaining care plans and documentation.
- A genuine passion for helping others and a commitment to delivering person centred care is essential.
