Day Shift Support Workers
to join our
Ofsted-regulated therapeutic children's residential home
in Cheshunt.
This is a fulfilling, hands-on role supporting children aged 10-17 with
emotional and behavioural needs
, helping them to feel safe, build trust, and develop confidence.

Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent emotional, practical and social support to young people during day shifts
Support structured routines: meals, education, hobbies, appointments and recreational activities
Encourage independence, decision-making and personal responsibility
Act as a
keyworker
, supporting young people with personal goals and development plans
Apply
trauma-informed practice
to build safety, trust and emotional regulation
Maintain a safe, nurturing and structured home environment
Record clear and accurate daily notes in line with
Ofsted standards
Participate in team meetings, reflective practice and supervision
Engage in ongoing professional development and training

What We're Looking For
Experience supporting
children or young people
(in residential care, youth work, social care, SEN or education)
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
(or willingness to work towards it)
Empathy, patience, reliability and emotional resilience
Strong communication skills and the ability to form positive, professional relationships
Understanding of safeguarding, trauma and professional boundaries
Full UK driving licence
desirable but not essential
