The post holder will provide specialist, responsive support to students studying at the University of St Andrews, who present with a range of issues relating to their student experience. You will provide support to students experiencing mental health difficulties, complex disabilities, extenuating personal circumstances and, at times, presenting in crisis. You will do this primarily through providing immediate crisis support for students presenting with urgent wellbeing needs, making internal and external referrals, advising on University policy, supporting physical and mental health, signposting wellbeing activities and recommending appropriate academic adjustments. You will co-ordinate appropriate support within the University and utilise external and statutory supports. You will be responsible for appropriately assessing, providing expert and professional advice and appropriately referring to colleagues internally and agencies external to Student Services. The ability to work flexibly and as part of a multi-disciplinary team is essential.
An ability to remain calm under pressure, work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritise work is vital. The successful candidate will be joining a dynamic, forward-thinking service, working alongside highly qualified, experienced and motivated colleagues.
